It’s the end of the world as we know it? Geography, population and resources

This talk, aimed at A level students, examines global population trends and question whether we have enough resources to sustain current population growth. To start answering this, Richard examines Malthusian, Cornucopian and Radical perspectives.

Professor Richard Yarwood is a Professor of Human Geography at the University of Plymouth. He teaches on a wide range of human geography modules and has research interests in population geography, social geographies, citizenship and rural issues. He is also editor of the GA’s journal ‘Geography’ and regularly speaks to school audiences.
